On May 24, 1968, prominent Chevrolet dealer and self-made millionaire W. Haynie Gourley was murdered. The exhaustive manhunt, police investigation, and trial mesmerized the city of Nashville. The story is told against the backdrop of the mid-century growth of Nashville, the nascent Civil Rights movement, and the social history of the Gourley family.
