After the War: Will There be a New Tennessee?

This session will include a discussion of what the outcome of the Civil War meant in Tennessee to African Americans and how the ex-Confederates responded to those changes. It will also address the challenges of industrialization and will end with the celebration of the Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition in 1897.
