Tennessee History Day offers free virtual professional development with veteran NHD educator Becky Verner.

Virtual PD is scheduled with presenter on a first come, first served basis. Can be during planning period for an entire team
or after school! PD certificates are issued after attendees complete a short survey.

Jump into NHD through a low stakes presentation on the benefits of the program and the “small bite” approach to teaching analytical thinking through National History Day.

NHD 101

Learn the nuts and bolts of the National History Day program, hear how to implement from the fall through a regional contest in February, and explore available resources.

NHD: Class or Club?

Compare two options for the organization of National History Day through general classroom instruction or as a club activity, discuss pros and cons, and view resources available to navigate either strategy

Collaborative Meeting Session

Meet with a veteran National History Day educator to brainstorm and plan for your educational environment, build a timeline and pull resources, cover content application, pedagogical strategies, and historical skills practice. This session is driven by your specific needs.
